Weber County (Utah). County Treasurer

Entity: 1308
Entity Type: County

Abstract

The treasurer makes a record of all sales of real property, describing the several parcels of real property, their taxes, and delinquent sales. Custody of all county funds, receipt of all moneys paid to the county, and the payment of warrants drawn against the county by the county auditor, the county commission, or the district court are the major responsibilities of the county treasurer. The treasurer collects all property taxes levied on property within the county for state or county purposes, local schools, municipalities, and special districts in the county. These property tax collections are distributed to the appropriate taxing entity on a monthly basis. Monthly and annual settlement reports regarding receipts and disbursements handled by the treasurer must be made with the county auditor. The board of county commissioners also may require the treasurer to submit a detailed report of county financial transactions with them.
