West Valley City (Utah). Finance Department

It is the duty of the Finance Department to promote, secure, and preserve the financial and property interests of the city. The finance director supervises all financial activities of the city. Subordinate to the finance director is the city treasurer, who has the responsibility of receiving and maintaining custody of all monies paid to the city. He disperses these city monies upon warrant of the chief accountant. As custodian of these monies, the treasurer is responsible for the investment of all idle cash. Other duties of the Finance Department include budget, purchasing, business licensing, and information services. Information services provides such resources as PBX and franking.
