Abstract
The Board of Corrections was created as a policy-making body in 1967 when the old agency of the same name was split into two: The Division of Corrections, to continue managing operations, and this newly created policy Board. Both were part of the newly created Dept. of Health and Welfare. The board was abolished when the Division of Corrections was elevated to a department, in a reorganization phased in from 1983 to 1985.
