Abstract

The Division of Instructional Services was created in approximately 1990 to provide direction for instruction and curriculum. The purpose of the division is to provide statewide certification and personnel development; development and delivery of the state core curriculum program of studies and high school graduation requirements; educational equity including bilingual education and race and sex desegregation; evaluation and assessment; services for at-risk students; and oversight of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.

The Division of Instructional Services provides supervision for projects assistance services, public education foundation, curriculum, industry training, at-risk students, certification and personnel, education equity and evaluation and assessment sections within the Office of Education.
