Crescent Cemetery Maintenance District (Utah)

The District manages burial services for the Sandy, Utah, community, located in Salt Lake County. Prior to 1962, the Crescent Cemetery was owned and maintained by the Crescent 1st ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1962 the cemetery was turned over to the state of Utah and organized as a Special District which meant that local residents would support the maintenance of the cemetery with a portion of their property taxes. The cemetery is managed by a 3-person board of directors.
