Abstract

Settled in 1848, voters approved the incorporation of Taylorsville-Bennion in September 1995, electing city officers in November. Officers took their oath of office the following January. In April 1996, voters shortened the name to Taylorsville, named for an early president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, John Taylor. Taylorsville began operation as an incorporated third class city on 1 July 1996.
