Judicial Council. Board of Juvenile Court Judges. Juvenile Court (Seventh District)
Abstract
Biography/History Notes
The 7th district of the juvenile court was created intially to contain Carbon, Emery, Grand, San Juan, and Sanpete counties. Difficulty in administerting the courts in rural districts led to the bluring of these boundaries in subsequent years. By 1928 the districts had been reformed and the 7th district contained Carbon, Emery, Duchesne and Uintah counties. The 1941 reorganization of state government also affected juvenile courts; the number of districts was reduced to 4, and the counties heretofore in the seventh district were placed in the new 3rd district. The 7th district disappeared until the 1988 reorganization of state court boundaries, so that juvenile court boundaries were identifcal to those of the district courts. Currently, the seventh district contains Carbon, Emergy, Grand, and San Juan counties.
