Orem (Utah). City Council

Since 1982, the City Council has six members plus the mayor. The mayor is the chief ceremonial officer of the city and chairs the city council, with the same vote and powers as other City Council members. The Council passes, modifies, or repeals all city ordinances and resolutions and is the chief legislative body for the city. The Council appoints the city manager, and acts as the Board of Directors of the Redevelopment Agency of the city with the mayor.
