The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (WMRC) works to protect employees and the public from radiation hazards, and has the responsibility to respond to incidents and allegations involving radiological materials. The Solid Waste Program administers permitting and compliance programs for non-hazardous solid waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities throughout the State. Along with the local health departments throughout the State, the Solid Waste Program provides a response to questions of improper disposal of solid waste and assists citizens in proper methods of disposal.
