Abstract
The mission of the Salt Lake County Assessor's Office is to consistently provide the public with the Fair Market Value of real and personal property through professionalism, efficiency and courtesy in compliance with the laws and statues of the State of Utah and other applicable standards of assessment.
Biography/History Notes
"The Salt Lake County Assessor's Office is required by the Utah Constitution to list and annually value all property to ad valorem taxation ('according to value') as of January 1. This includes appraising real property, personal property, and motor vehicles at 'fair market value.' We appraise approximately 270,000 parcels of real property each year (residential, commercial, and vacant land), value and collect taxes on approximately 52,000 personal property accounts, and value and collect registration fees on approximately 800,000 motor vehicles, airplanes, and recreational vehicles."
