Morgan (Utah) Burial records, 1865-2001.

This series contains several registers listing information on burials in the Morgan North and South Cemeteries. The earliest two registers are labeled "Morgan City South" and "Morgan City North." While the intent may have originally been to record burials in each cemetery separately, the decision was made to record all burials chronologically in one book and alphabetically in the other. The books were likely started about 1901, but include information about earlier burials as well. The books may also list individuals who died in Morgan, but were not buried there.

The third book is an index book used to record burials by name. The book appears to have been started in the early 1930's, using information copied from the earlier volumes. This record was maintained until 1940. The fourth volume or "Cemetery Record" was started in 1940. It includes information from the earlier records and was used to record on-going burials until 2001. The two earliest registers typically list the name ofthe deceased, "ward" or place of death, parent or spouse's name, birth date and place, death date, cause of death, medical attendant, and burial location. The later volumes record only the name, birth and death dates, burial location, and place of residence.
