Scope and Content
These indexes provide access by plaintiff name to the territorial JUDGMENT RECORD BOOKS of the Third District Court. They give plaintiff name, defendant name, and page number in the record books where a summary of the conclusions of each civil case is recorded.
Research Note
The location (or existence) of any indexes to Record Books A through H, Record Books N and O, or Record Book S is unknown. Record book K was simply indexed at the beginning of the record book volume (series 24336).
The Utah counties included in the Third District Court changed over the years. For a list of counties, the researcher should consult the Historical Jurisdiction Chart for the court available on the Archives webpage.
Arrangement
The indexes are chronological by the record book indexed. Entries are alphabetical by initial letter of plaintiff surname.
