Summary of Records

This series contains two bound volumes used to record burials in the cemetery. The series was apparently begun in the late nineteenth century, but includes information about burials dating back to 1859, which was drawn from earlier sources. For many years this series would have been the primary record of burials in the cemetery. The volumes, labeled "Sexton's Record," contain pre-printed pages with spaces for recording such information as the name of the deceased, birth date and place, parents' names, death date and place, grave location, cause of death, and attending physician. Other information, such as burial date and mortuary, is sometimes noted as well.
