Scope and Content

This series contains a copy of the city charter with municipal codes. When the city council or legislative body passes ordinances, the laws in those ordinances are organized and codified in the city or municipality's legal codes. The charter document outlines the powers of the city; municipal government; special officers; city administration; planning, zoning, and housing; nominations and elections; succession in government; and general provisions. The remainder of the document details the various city codes detailing the authority of city officials, public infrastructure changes, and other legal codes operative within the city. Additionally, there is an alphabetized subject index on page 590.

Processing Information

The records in this series originally came stored in a generic binder. For long term preservation, the records were removed from the binder and rehoused in folders inside of an archival box.This series was archivally processed by Genesie Miller in November 2023.
