Summary of Records
Scope and Content
These reports contain the proposed budgets for state agencies. The information includes proposed monetary requirements, budget justification data, and specific programs for which the proposed budget will be apportioned and the amount estimated for each. These reports are the basis for each state agency's annual budget for the coming fiscal year.
They have been popularly known as the Governor's Budget Recommendations and the Annual Budget and include the Budget in Brief. Begun by the Department of Finance, publication of the budget recommendations was transferred to the Governor's Office of Budget and Planning following agency reorganization ca. 1969.
