Scope and Content
This series contains index books to minutes kept by the Salt Lake City Recorder of official Salt Lake City Council meetings. The index books present include Book E (1867-1870), Book F (1870-1873) Book G (1873-1876), Book J (1884-1886), Book J2 (1884-1886), Book J3 (1884-1886), and Book K (1887-1889). Indexes include the names of parties cited in the minutes that are arranged alphabetically by surname, and the corresponding page number where those names can be found in the official minutes.

Custody History
Paper indexes were kept by the Salt Lake County Recorder between 1851 and 1981. Indexes are found in both this series, as well as bound with individual volumes found in Series 82755. After 1981 the Salt Lake City Recorder began keeping index records in an electronic format. These records are kept and maintained by the office.
