Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains records created as a byproduct of the State Engineers mandated responsibilities to either approve, or deny, dam building requests, as well as supervise dam inspections and construction repairs when necessary.
The bulk of this series is composed of correspondence to (and from) the State Engineer concerning a host of issues pertaining to dams throughout the state of Utah. Often these correspondences are from dam investigators designated by the State Engineer. Records of this type may include other supporting documentation such as financial statements, resolutions, maps, and various studies or reports.
Other record types that appear here include a news clipping scrapbook on small reservoirs, small reservoir investigation files, and general reservoir information files from each county in the state.
