Arrangement
By community, thereunder by block number.
The recorder arranged abstracts in Book D by community, and thereunder by block number. As pages became full, he carried entries forward on other blank pages in the book. When Book D was full, he carried forward entries into Book D 1, and as he did so the books became progressively more unorganized.
Ca. 1945 the recorder began a new set of books, Abstracts: Towns, in which he carried forward entries for all communities except Saint George, keeping entries for each community separate and ordered according to block number. Communities were not ordered alphabetically, but as follows: Abstracts: Towns Book 1: Grafton, Springdale, Rockville, Virgin City, Virgin town and field, Toquerville, LaVerkin town and field; Abstracts: Towns Book 2: Hurricane town, Hurricane field, Leeds town, New Harmony, town, New Harmony farm; Abstracts: Towns Book 3: Harrisburg town, Middleton town, Washington City, Santa Clara town and field; Abstracts: Towns Book 4: Ivins town, Central town, Enterprise town, Gunlock town; Pine Valley, Pinto, St. George & Santa Clara Bench Irrigation Company Survey.
