Scope and Content
This record series contains an index book kept by the clerk of the court for the purpose of tracking civil and criminal actions handled by Fifth District Court in Washington County. It lists the kind of action, civil or criminal, the names of plaintiff and defendant, a file number and a date of filing.
Research Note
Throughout this index book it is common to see criminal actions appearing on the left hand side of a two page spread. Civil cases appear on the right. Often civil cases will take up multiple pages. Both civil and criminal cases have multiple filings under "State of Utah," "County of Washington," and "City of Saint George."
