Pictures taken of public libraries, for the purpose of State Library publications and other uses.

This series contains photographs of public library buildings throughout Utah. Most of the photographs are undated. The dated photographs appear to have been taken between the 1950s and 1980s. Photographs include both exterior and interior images of library buildings, as well as some buildings which were under construction or in the process of being demolished. The photographs are not comprehensive; they do not cover every library building in each county. For example, the photographs from Salt Lake County only include the Holladay branch, and one photograph of the former Salt Lake County main building. This series also includes some miscellaneous photographs of Utah State Library bookmobiles, and pictures of a library kiosk from Richmond, Virginia, which were being used as a reference by Davis County.
