After over two years of remote internships, we’re thrilled to welcome our Fall 2022 cohort in-person! They kicked off the semester with a tour of the Utah State Archives building, a chance to meet our staff, and time to dive into their projects with their specific advisors. Learn more about the interns:

Silver Hinckley recently graduated from BYU-Idaho with her Bachelor’s in International Studies and is hoping to attend graduate school in Archival Studies in the Fall of 2023. As the Reference Intern, she will be working with our Reference & Access Program Manager to learn how to locate records in our collection and provide excellent customer service through direct contact with patrons. Additional projects include updating and creating new research guides, authoring guest blog posts, and working with state agencies and their records.

Sadie Webster is currently working on her Master in Library Science with an emphasis in Archival Studies at Emporia State University. She also works as the Acquisitions Department Assistant at the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University. As the Digital Archives Intern, Sadie will work with our Digital Archives Program Manager to arrange and describe digitized images from Governor Clyde’s newspaper clippings (1957-1964). This project includes 25 reels of records where folders need to be described, and digital images need to be sorted.

Morgan Meik is a senior at BYU where he is working on his Bachelor of Arts in Advertising as well as working as a strategist at the BYU AdLab Agency. As the Outreach and Advocacy Intern, Morgan will be focused on ways to increase public engagement with the Utah State Archives. This will include designing marketing materials, developing educator resources, and compiling community and professional event information.
