Summer has arrived, and at the Utah State Archives, we’re excited to welcome a new cohort of talented interns! Learn more about them, and the exciting projects they will be undertaking this summer, below:

Photo of Sara Riley

Sara Riley is currently in the Master in Library and Information Science program at the University of Maryland, with an emphasis in archival and digital curation. In addition to school, she works as a freelance web designer. She’s interested in both processing and outreach, so we’re thrilled she accepted the position of Lester Wire Project Intern! In this role, Sara will work in-person with our processing team to inventory, organize, house, and describe records about Lester Wire (inventor of the traffic light) from the Utah Department of Transportation. She’ll then work remotely with our Outreach Manager to create a digital exhibit from those materials and develop a plan for promotion.

Headshot of Taylor Burnette

Taylor Burnette recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University. Her two greatest passions are communications and archives, which makes her a perfect fit as the Outreach Intern! Taylor will work with our Outreach Manager on content creation, developing digital exhibits, and enhancing public access initiatives. She’ll be working remotely before starting her AmeriCorps placement at the Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery in Athens, Ohio, as the Community Outreach Specialist.
