Meet the Spring 2026 Interns

A new semester means new faces around the Archives! We’re delighted to welcome a talented group of interns who stood out in a competitive application and interview process. Read on to meet the spring cohort and learn about the projects they’ll be working on this semester.

Emily Kovacic is currently pursuing her Master’s of Folklore at Utah State University, where she is the President of the Folklore Club. Emily’s thesis involves documenting the oral history surrounding the Little Logan River in Logan, Utah. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Emily is thrilled to be living in the mountains and spends her free time exploring every corner of the state. She will be working on cultural heritage research for the Utah State Historical Records Advisory Board.

Richelle Morrison is a graduate student from Emporia State University, completing her Masters in Library Science with a focus on Archives. Richelle is changing careers after 15+ years in business management and is looking forward to applying her skills to a new focus. After graduation she hopes to work with archives to process and eliminate their backlogs. Richelle will be working with our Local Government team to accession records.

Áine Droney (she/her/he/him) is a senior at Utah Valley University completing an Applied Communications degree with an Art History Minor. He also works as a circulation aide at UVU’s Fulton Library; long term, Áine plans on pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science. His particular interests lie in art provenance research, records management, and information accessibility. The dual responsibilities of accessioning and records review are right up her alley! He is a cross country transplant from Connecticut, so she’s excited to learn more about the history of Utah from this hands on experience. Áine is completing two internships this semester: accessioning with the Local Government team as well as a records review project with the Records and Information Management team.
