Department of Administrative Services. Division of Purchasing and General Services. Central Stores Office

Central Stores has been a part of the Division of Central Services, one of the original divisions of the newly created Department of Administrative Services (Laws, 1981; chapter 257), since 1981. Prior to that, Central Services (including Central Stores) was a division of the Department of Finance. The act creating the Department of Finance in 1941 made provision for the function carried out by the Central Stores Office. Supplies were distributed through a "Disbursing Office" operated by the Division of Purchasing.
