The old Utah State Prison site was later excluded, becoming Sugar House City Park. A grant of $20,000 from the Rockefeller-Jackson Hole Preserve Foundation provided initial funds. Since that time, the park system has expanded into an array of scenic and nature areas, historic and museum areas, and water recreation areas statewide.
