Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains the official record of regular and special town council and, later, city council meetings. The minutes describe the issues discussed in meetings and record any votes or official actions taken by the council. The minutes typically include the date and time of the meeting, the council members present, the business handled, and the time of adjournment. The official copy is usually signed by the mayor and the city recorder.
Beginning in 1988, the recorder kept a file with a second copy of the minutes, along with relevant attachments. These files are found in Series 28632. In 2005 the recorder ceased keeping a second copy and from that time forward the related attachments are filed in this series with the official copy of the minutes.
