Summary of Records
Scope and Content
The State Planning Board gathered research and created statistical studies on Utah's natural resources including mineral studies and the mining industry. The board worked with both federal and state agencies to identify problems and create plans relative to conserving Utah's natural resources and these studies were essential to their objectives. These are studies that focus specifically on Utah's mineral resources and industries. They include reports on mine taxation; benefits to Utah from mining; reports on various minerals; mineral charts and graphs; coal studies; fertilizer minerals and related pilot plants; a Helper coal project; iron resources; the steel industry; and a bibliography of the silver industry.
