Summary of Records
Scope and Content
This series contains the cemetery copy of receipts issued when money was received for burial plots and related services. They were used to document payments received and to record income generated by the cemetery. The oldest book includes an 1893 note from the cemetery committee explaining the origins of the record. In addition to the regular receipts, the first book also includes some duplicate receipts, presumably issued for individuals who had lost their original copies. Information on the receipts typically includes the receipt number, date, name of person making payment, payment amount, purpose of payment, lot and block number, and the sexton's signature.
Arrangement
Chronological by receipt date and numerical by receipt number.
