Updating County Contract Billings Schedule
County schedule 20-7 is being overwritten by state schedule 13-18. If you go to the county schedule on our website, it will be hyperlinked to the new schedule. Retention is now four years longer. Don’t worry if you have already destroyed records per the old schedule. Please update your records so the updated retention will be followed from this point

Sanpete Birth Register Online
The birth register maintained by the Sanpete County Clerk from 1898-1905 is now available as a book online. These records contain birth registers recorded from 1898 through 1905. Each entry includes an assigned number, sex, color, race, date and place of birth, parent’s names and residence, attending physician , and remarks. Marriage Records Research Guide updated
The Research Guide to Marriage Records at the Utah State Archives has been updated. Historical background has been added to the introductory text related to how civil registration of marriage came to be in Utah, which helps explain why there are generally no government records of marriage before about 1888.
