Our History: An Introduction

This year the Utah State Archives and Records Service celebrates its 50th year as a division of state government. The history of our agency reaches back even further and we will spend this year’s Archives Month celebrating that history through a series of blog posts.
On October 9th we will focus on the early history of our agency, up to its designation as a distinct entity in Utah government in 1969. On October 16th we will explore our institution’s last 50 years as a state agency. October 23rd we will discuss the individuals who have served as Utah State Archivists and the advances made under each of their terms. And, on October 30th we will conclude this series with a look ahead to what we anticipate over the next 50 years.
So, stay tuned this October as we tell the story of the Utah State Archives and Records Service!
