She takes time to understand the educational and professional goals of students, and ensures the students’ projects support their individual goals. She understands the importance of hands-on learning, and is an expert in transferring theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

Gina has been at the Utah State Archives and Records Service since 2002. In addition to managing the Digital Archives section, she administers multiple web sites, as well as archival processing of historical materials such as vital records. She is a Certified Archivist, has an MLIS from the University of Washington, and holds a certificate as a Digital Archives Specialist.

The Conference of Inter-Mountain Archivists honored this year’s award recipients during the annual business meeting held virtually on Friday, May 15, 2020 due to the cancellation of the Western Archivists Meeting in San Francisco, California due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
