New Biography for Governor Huntsman
We are pleased to highlight a new biography for the research guide to the records of Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. Governor Huntsman served from 2005 to 2009, when President Barack Obama selected him to be the United States Ambassador to China. Lieutenant Governor Gary Herbert replaced him and then was elected governor in 2010 and re-elected in 2012 and 2016.
The biography, written by one of our interns Dani Newton, features the portrait that now hangs in the Utah State Capitol. Our archivists previously processed the records of his administration. These records include Administrative Policy and Program files, Constituent Correspondence, Executive Correspondence, Photographs, and Speeches and Official statements. His official schedule is also available online.
Former Governor Huntsman has recently been nominated and confirmed as the U.S. Ambassador to Russia.
